Core Boiler Services in the Hudson Valley

Boiler Service and Maintenance

Scheduled maintenance keeps a boiler efficient and catches problems before a winter shutdown. Our technicians carry out combustion analysis, burner tuning, heat exchanger and refractory inspection, controls calibration and safety checks, and we keep the records you need for your New York State boiler inspection.

Boiler Parts

We stock and source parts for Cleaver-Brooks and a wide range of commercial boiler brands. Call the service and parts office at (914) 332-0099, or collect from 524 S. Columbus Ave, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.

Boiler Sales and Installation

Replacing an aging boiler? We supply firetube, watertube, modular steam, condensing hydronic and electric boilers, and we handle sizing, permits, rigging and startup commissioning.

Emergency Boiler Repair

Our emergency line is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year. When a boiler goes down in January in Middletown or Poughkeepsie, you need someone who has the parts and knows the equipment. We send technicians anywhere in the Hudson Valley, nights and weekends included.

Commercial Boiler Rentals

If a repair or replacement will take longer than your building can go without heat, our sister company Mobile Steam can deliver a temporary boiler to keep the building running while the work is done.

What Types of Buildings Does MPN Service in the Hudson Valley?

Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Health Care

Hospitals and long-term care facilities across the region run steam and hot water boilers for heating, sterilization, laundry and kitchens. Some run high-pressure steam, which New York State requires to be inspected every year.

We know the paperwork and backup these buildings need. See our boilers for hospitals page.

Colleges, Universities and School Districts

The Hudson Valley has a long list of campuses, from SUNY schools to private colleges and large public school districts. Older campuses often still run central steam plants feeding several buildings.

We work on central plants and individual building boilers, and we schedule major work around the academic calendar. More on our boilers for universities page.

Manufacturing, Warehouses and Distribution

The I-84 and Route 17 corridors in Orange County are lined with warehouses, distribution centers and manufacturing plants. These sites use boilers for space heating and, in manufacturing, for process steam and hot water.

Downtime costs money, so we offer maintenance contracts built around production schedules.

Breweries, Distilleries and Food Production

The Hudson Valley's craft beverage and food producers depend on steam for brewing, distilling, cleaning and pasteurizing. We supply and service the steam boilers these operations rely on.

See our breweries and distilleries pages for more.

Apartment Complexes, Offices and Municipal Buildings

Garden apartment complexes, office parks, town halls, firehouses and libraries all need reliable heat through long Hudson Valley winters.

We service everything from a single building's boiler to multi-building campuses. See boilers for commercial buildings.

Does Local Law 97 Apply in the Hudson Valley, and What Boiler Inspections Do You Need?

Local Law 97 is a New York City law, so it does not apply to buildings in Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster or Sullivan counties. What does apply is the New York State Department of Labor's boiler inspection program under Code Rules 4 and 14.

Under the state rules, inspections are carried out by inspectors employed by insurance companies and commissioned by the Department of Labor, and how often depends on the type of boiler:

High-pressure steam Every year Every year
High-pressure hot water Every 3 years (yearly if it has manholes or handholes) Every year
Low-pressure steam Every 3 years Every 2 years
Low-pressure hot water Every 5 years Every 2 years

Inspection day is a lot easier when the maintenance is done and written down. Our maintenance visits cover the items inspectors look at, and we fix anything they flag.

If you are planning to cut fuel use or emissions, MPN can help with control upgrades, burner tune-ups, high-efficiency condensing boilers, and hybrid heat pump and boiler systems through our Hudson Clean Heat team. Utility incentives under the NYS Clean Heat program may be available for heat pump projects, though funding changes year to year, so check what is open when you plan the work.
