The Problem -
Mechanical Room Flooding
Many buildings in NYC maintain a fuel oil system consisting of fuel oil storage tank(s) and fuel oil forwarding pump set(s) to supply oil to emergency generators and other critical equipment such as heating boilers. The fuel oil equipment is normally located in the lowest level of the building and is highly susceptible to flooding whether it be a natural cause or mechanical piping failure. Changes in our weather patterns have resulted in more severe flooding than in the past, and MPN is proud to announce a solution to your fuel transfer challenges.

Boiler Room Damage After Superstorm Sandy
As a result of Hurricane Sandy (Superstorm Sandy) and subsequent flooding events, many fuel oil forwarding systems wound up going underwater, rendering them inoperable. The result of this critical component failure is a building left in an extremely vulnerable situation due to a lack of emergency power to supply critical power to lighting, elevators, and other important equipment.
Providing a fail-safe solution to ensure 100% operation of a fuel oil forwarding system is imperative for any building owner.
MPN's Solution -
Immersible Fuel Oil Forwarding Systems by Critical Fuel Systems, Inc.
As the exclusive NYC Metro Area representative for Critical Fuel Systems, MPN is pleased to provide this unique solution: a patented technology utilizing a fully immersible approach derived from the maritime and shipping industry. The pumps are powered via hydraulic motors with the pumping systems and electrical components located above the floodplain. Critical Fuel Systems' exclusive technology utilizes:

A hydraulic power unit comprised of hydraulic pumps with electric motors and a hydraulic fluid reservoir tank.

Hydraulically powered immersible fuel pump sets comprised of Hydraulic motors.

A control system mounted above the floodplain.
How It Works
The system works via the control panel powering an electric hydraulic pump, which powers a hydraulic motor, to drive the fuel oil pumps. The control panel electrical power, motor starters, and critical electric components are all above the floodplain. The fuel oil transfer pump system is fully immersible, compact, and safe to operate in both wet and dry conditions.

Designed for Reliability

Critical Fuel System’s True Guard Immersible Pump Set comes with a single or duplex pump arrangement, eco-friendly hydraulic fluid, and optional sensors with power cutoffs. Other manufacturers rely on packaging standard fuel oil pumps and motors in enclosures designed to be watertight. Unfortunately, these enclosures have multiple connection points and large gasketed doors, all susceptible to failure at any given time due wear and tear in addition to improper maintenance. With CFS Industries’ immersible system, the fuel oil pump and hydraulic motor is designed and patented to operate continuously under 90 feet of saltwater.
Patented True Guard
Immersible Pump Sets

Hurricane season is rapidly approaching. If your fuel system has any fluid pumping demand which has the potential to fall below the floodplain in an extreme weather event, MPN has the solution you need with CFS’s patented True Guard Immersible Pump Sets.
