The pumps are powered via hydraulic motors with the pumping systems and electrical components located above the floodplain. Critical Fuel Systems' exclusive technology utilizes:
A hydraulic power unit comprised of hydraulic pumps with electric motors and a hydraulic fluid reservoir tank.

How It Works
The system works via the control panel powering an electric hydraulic pump, which powers a hydraulic motor, to drive the fuel oil pumps. The control panel electrical power, motor starters, and critical electric components are all above the floodplain. The fuel oil transfer pump system is fully immersible, compact, and safe to operate in both wet and dry conditions.

Critical Fuel System’s True Guard Immersible Pump Set comes with a single or duplex pump arrangement, eco-friendly hydraulic fluid, and optional sensors with power cutoffs. Other manufacturers rely on packaging standard fuel oil pumps and motors in enclosures designed to be watertight. Unfortunately, these enclosures have multiple connection points and large gasketed doors, all susceptible to failure at any given time due wear and tear in addition to improper maintenance.
