How to install 3 x 10 Ton Boilers

Three CleaverBrooks industrial water tube boilers were delivered to supply medium-temperature hot water to the Red Hook, New York City Housing Authority houses.
Each boiler weighs about 70,000 pounds and took a week to travel from Lincoln, Nebraska.
The building is being constructed around the boilers, with the roof and generators to be installed in this next stage.
The objective of this project is to install a new heating plant away from the flood zone, as the previous boilers were damaged during Superstorm Sandy. The project started four years ago and is now in the delivery phase.
Simply just getting the crane built and ready to pick up these large, heavy boilers took all morning. It comes in about 10 or 15 trucks.
The boilers in this area all went underwater with Superstorm Sandy.
The objective of this plant four years ago was to determine a place where they could install a new heating plant away from the flood zone.
About four years ago, that process started with Arup Engineering in New York City, and we went through assisting them with the design.
All the drawings were developed.
It went out to bid and was awarded to MPN in 2019, and here we are in 2021, getting the boilers delivered to the job site.
Thank you for joining us for phase one of this project.
We’ll continue to provide you with updates as the project progresses.
